On December 4, Beijing Changjiu Logistics held the naming and maiden voyage ceremony of the 7,000-car Ro-Ro ship “Jiuyang Blossom” in Shanghai together with its partners, Huayang Maritime Centre, Hyundai Glovis, and BOCOM Financial Leasing. China Shipowners’ Association (CSA), China Institute of Navigation, China Classification Society (CCS), Institute of Water Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), China Automobile Dealers Association, Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration, East China Sea Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation, Shanghai Lingang Group, Yangshan Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station, Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute, Shanghai HaiTong International Automobile Terminal, CDC International Logistics Co.,Ltd , Jiuyang Shipping Co., Ltd. and Changjiu Glovis (Shanghai) Shipping Co.,Ltd.

The Chairman of Changjiu Logistics, Mr. Bo Shijiu, announced that the “Jiuyang Blossom” project is a collaboration between Changjiu Logistics and its partners. They successfully completed all the necessary work, from the feasibility study to the delivery of the ship, in a short span of three months.The successful implementation of this project is based on the trust built up between the partners over a long period of time and our confidence in the new pattern of global automobile distribution centred on China. In 2014, Changjiu Logistics embarked on a journey to establish a global presence. This strategic move aimed to deliver comprehensive international logistics solutions to Chinese customers involved in the automotive import and export industry. “The ship has 13 decks with a total cargo area of about 60,000 square metres, of which two decks are liftable decks, capable of carrying vehicles with a maximum height of less than 4.9 metres and a single weight of less than 100 tonnes; it can carry 7,000 standard finished vehicles at one time. “Jiuyang Blossom” is the first 7,000-standard-car capacity large-scale professional Ro-Ro ship operated by a Chinese background shipowner and is also the largest professional Ro-Ro ship with the largest loading capacity in the Chinese shipowner’s own Ro-Ro fleet at present. The ship will be jointly launched on global routes by Beijing Changjiu Logistics Co., Ltd. and its partners to help Chinese-made cars “Go Global” and international branded cars “Come in”, and contribute to the prosperous development of the global automobile industry.

Ms Li Gui Ping, Director of Changjiu Logistics, acted as the naming godmother for this ceremony, naming the 7,000-vehicle Ro-Ro ship added by Changjiu Logistics. In the presence and expectation of all the leaders, Ms Li completed the naming ceremony with blessings, wishing “Jiuyang Blossom” smooth sailing and good luck and peace in the sea voyage. At 15:18 pm, with the sound of the majestic “Jiuyang Blossom” whistle, the naming and maiden voyage ceremony was successfully concluded. The ship “Jiuyang Blossom” will sail away from the pier with thousands of passenger cars, marking the new height of Changjiu Logistics’ comprehensive solution capability in international automobile logistics.
